Try to be Coachable

NYLS Film: Representing Clients in Mediation — Module 7 • September 23, 2025

During the mediation, if the mediator is asking you questions, or even pressing you on particular points, you could behave badly, grow defensive, or aggressively push back, as does the lawyer I play in New York Law School's film, "Representing Clients in Mediation" - Module 7, "Try to Be Coachable."

OR, you could make the better choice, keep an open mind and see where the process takes you. Allow yourself to receive its full benefit. A settlement may be possible that is in your client’s interest. Listen to what the mediator has to say.
